The Gun Toting Lawyers of St. Louis Highlight the Danger of First Time Gun Owners During Civil Unrest
The story of Mark and Patricia McCloskey, the St. Louis based attorneys who brandished guns at a group of protestors who entered their private property, seems to be the new Covington Catholic case. The McCloskey’s, like Nick Sandmann at the center of the “smirk” video, are now at the center of a controversy where Americans are watching the same video but seeing two different stories.
I’ll let the mob of bloggers, Twitter users, YouTubers and armchair quarterbacks (not to mention prosecutors) sort out the details. However, I’m not seeing much coverage of the fact that the McCloskeys…just don’t know what they’re doing when it comes to handling firearms. That’s probably because people in media don’t know how guns work either.
Just look at this coverage from The New York Post.
Mark and Patricia McCloskey — who went viral after brandishing an AR-15-style rifle and a silver-colored handgun, respectively
Gosh, Huckleberry. Everyone knows the silver-colored ones are much more deadly than the dark grey ones. Bullet caliber (size) and ammo type (full metal jacket vs. hollow point) are negligable details. It’s all about the gun’s outer hue. [Eyeroll].
Since nobody, outside of YouTuber Colion Noir, is talking about the McCloskey’s bad gunsmanship, and how this could get much, much worse, we’d better dive in.
